Philosophy in Network Marketing


When building your dream house, you want everything that makes it up brand new. You select the finest materials and furniture to ensure that the house is safe, secure and enjoyable to live in. You DEFINITELY do not want to use aging materials for its foundation and for the rest of its features.


This should also be your philosophy in Network Marketing if you want to be known as ethical and profess
ional. When you build your network, you build from scratch. So when you want to build a network for a different purpose or vision, you build from scratch too. Even with the purest intention, you just can't bring EVERYONE wherever you want to go. This is a lesson that many had a hard time learning.



If you must start anew, start fresh. And if you must leave and felt the need to go (which you have the right to do), just make sure that you have put in place a system or have designated a person that will take care of the people you will leave behind. Because at the end of the day, you owe your success to the people who have worked with you before you embrace a new direction. Some may join, some will not. But your principles on this matter will be highly appreciated and reciprocated when they know you care for them more than your personal success and interest. ---- Ismael Bengco III

A Message from the former CEO of VMOBILE Technologies Inc.

A lot of VMobile subscribers are sending me private messages asking for my opinion about the recent events in the company. They are prodding me to give comments. I gave it a thought and to help in decision-making, my opinion or comments will come from my two decades of practice in the MLM industry and a decade of designing compensation programs for Network Marketing companies including those I hav
e helped establish.

I will try to make it short and simple. Here they are (PART 1):

1. ON THE ISSUE OF PRO-RATED TSB AND THAT VMOBILE IS THE ONLY COMPANY USING THIS METHOD. Pro-rated compensation program or 'pooled' incentives is NOT NEW in the MLM industry. It is employed by SOUND and STABLE MLM companies. VMobile is NOT THE ONLY company using this method. Most companies using this type are US-based. Pro-rating of compensation ensures the stability of payout that is NOT INHERENT in ANY BINARY program, most especially when the product being sold is NON-CONSUMABLE like subscriptions to a service such as VMobile's.

There are variations of design for Binary compensation program. One is the conservative approach of requiring 1/3 and 2/3 of sales volume on both teams to qualify for the 'pairing' or matched sales. The most popular is what they call Binary 1-1, which requires equal sales volume on both teams or 'legs' to earn a pair or bonus. The latter is the riskiest of all the variations but is the most popular. To counter the sure failure of a Binary program, volume from REGULAR sales of CONSUMABLE products must also be included in the volume tracking. This is the practice of USANA--the longest existing Network Marketing company in the world employing BINARY.

The pro-rated TSB has been the policy of VMobile since its inception. However, pioneering leaders of the company requested for the TEMPORARY suspension of such behavior when it started late in 2010. This is why TSB ADJUSTMENT is seen as entries in the transaction records of ALL qualified subscribers in myLX. This is a way to TRACK how much SUBSIDY VMobile had given to ALL its members including those who have requested and left the company after reinstating what is important for the STABILITY of the whole program. That amount of money represents what could have been profits for VMobile but was given in the hope of a better and LASTING relationship with its active members. Apparently, such hope did not work for some.

VMobile was instrumental to the success of many of its pioneering subscribers but was deserted when it is time to protect the "goose that lays the golden eggs." Many who have left believed that the company can sustain paying fixed TSB. Well, that is not the case and the truth.

Let me give you a quick and easy way to analyze if a BINARY compensation plan CAN SURVIVE. For a company to pay P500 per 'pair' or for a matched sales, the amount that the company should set aside or appropriate to ensure that it can pay such for QUITE A TIME should NOT BE LESS than 500% of its intended 'pairing value'. This is not the only factor to consider. The maximum DAILY allowable income for an account from such 'paired sales' should not exceed 8-10 times the amount of allotment. In the example I have given above, for P500 TSB Value, the allotment should NOT BE LESS THAN P2,500 PER SALE and the maximum daily allowable TSB earning should not be more than P20,000-P25,000. The maximum for VMobile is P30,000 per day.

The allotment for Binary compensation is even DISTINCT and SEPARATE from any other incentives a company could give such as Direct Incentive (P500 in the case of VMobile). When you consider the cost of the subscription package and the payout allotment, you will realize that sales of subscription should not be the main source of income for a Network Marketing company. Otherwise, a company solely founded on 'recruitment' is bound to fail.

MORE DOES NOT MEAN BETTER

I have been in the MLM industry since my early 20s. Thanks for being poor, I failed to finish my first year in college and discovered Network Marketing during my employment in one of the IT companies I worked for as clerk and administrative assistant. Nothing to brag, but I considerably gain a lot as a Network Marketing professional in the Philippines both in terms of fi
nancial and experience.

I have joined many MLM and Direct Sales companies like High Desert (remember Bee Pollen and Royal Jelly?), Amway, Cosway, Herbalife, NuSkin, E. Excel International, Symmetry, Reliv, and others. I have created or help create some local companies who are either gone or still around like Montana Waters (contemporary of Water Club), ProZinergy, Millionaires In Business (MIB-Prudentialife), SIM Club, iGen-Portal, Portal Innovations, AIM Global etc. It has been a journey. A journey I consider to be in pursuit of dreams, money, success and failure. It is a journey I could consider almost nearing its end.

I have met with a lot of people. Worked with them. Learn from and with them. I have met different types of Network Marketing professionals and I have one observation over the years. Money changes everything.

At first you will deny it. But when you are there, and you are not consciously watching your steps, your hear and mind, it will one day take you away like a strong current in a wild river. I have seen many times the pitfalls of successful MLM professionals. It is the unrealistic wanting for MORE.

This is why many have fallen to the trap of joining short-lived and ill-established companies who have offered HIGHER compensation and MORE ways of earnings. They appeal to your appetency to realize your dreams the FASTEST way. But in the desire to have more, they forget to check the REALITY and appreciate the blessings they have. Their fantasies disable their mental faculties in discerning what is realistic and what is not.

There is nothing wrong with PURSUING our DREAMS. But do not fall into the trap of wanting for MORE when it is unrealistic and less thoughts are given to it. When making a decision, make sure you have RELIABLE and ENOUGH information at hand. Think about the present before you consider the future. You can easily do something with the present but you have to be brave and bold enough to consider what lies ahead. At the end of the day, life is what you make it. You cannot blame anyone but you. You can be bold or brave. But be realistic and enjoy life in the present. Do not let your discontent or wanting for more throw you out of balance to lose everything in the end. ----

BINARY 101: IS LEADERSHIP MATCHING BONUS THE BEST?


There is a variant of Binary compensation where you will earn certain percentage of your downlines 'binary income' up to certain levels of generations. I can say the proverbial "I have been there, done that" when I remember Portal Innovations who initially owns LoadXtreme before VMobile.


During that time, I have included in the compensation prog
ram the Supreme Leadership Award which is a way to earn from the BINARY INCOME of your downlines up to 3rd generation. I thought that this would counter the weakness of Binary requiring two teams before you qualify to earn commission. The effect is actually fantastic and applauded by subscribers of Portal then. Imagine earning in the Binary program with only one leg because it so happen that your downline is a power networker and earning a portion of his income (say 10-20%) is far better than traditional Binary. However, this prove to be disastrous for Portal Innovations as it requires more payout allotment.



Let us assume for example that as a Binary program designer, you want to give 10% binary matching bonus from first level down to the fifth level and your Binary compensation pays P500 per matched sales or pair with a maximum daily payout of P20,000 per account. You would tend to think that you are only paying P500 per pair, right? WRONG. 10% of P500 multiplied up to 5th generation will force your to pay P750 per pair.



Now, let us say you want to give 20% per level up to 5th generation. That is in effect DOUBLING your BINARY PAYOUT because 20% multiplied up to 5th generation is equivalent to P500 which is in addition to the basic P500 per pair earning. This is in effect paying P1,000 per pair. If you have not considered this in your payout allocation, your BINARY PROGRAM is doomed to FAIL.



Before making a decision in joining a BINARY COMPANY, make sure you have looked into EVERY ANGLE and you have pushed the numbers. You don't want to be putting your name at stake just because you failed to conduct due diligence of the program. ---- Ismael Bengco III

Updates from Penta Capital and Vmobile management. This is the news us leaders received after meetings (Romee Gallaza Lozada, John Jester Ching, Gerrard Vmobile Mavericks)
- Penta Capital focuses on company's sustainability meaning gusto nila maging long term ang business. Everything they do, they always consider this: sustainability.

- We are the biggest prepaid load provider in the Philippines. If someone claims to be the biggest in the country, Penta Capital big bosses dare that person to go to the big telcos in the country and double check everything.

- We have more than 100 million pesos in the bank so the company is very stable.

- Our sales of products right now is greater than our sales of kits and that's a very good thing. We are doing 8-10 million pesos a day in products alone, kits are not yet included.

- The reason why the past few days we experienced 400 plus TSB is that Penta Capital started to lessen "their" income to add to "our" bonus pool.

- Big bosses said that networking is essential in our business so the rumor that VMobile will be JUST a loading business and without networking side is TOTALLY FALSE.

- We have our own loading system. We own our customer service, IT, system, everything. We are proud of that since WE CANNOT JUST OUTSOURCE anything to RISK quality service. We need to make sure we give quality service to people one improvement at a time. Kung sa iba nakiki-tap lang sa isang loading system pero hindi sa kanila, one disadvantage is that if mawala si loading system, wala na din ung kumpanya nila because their company is based on the existence of that loading company.

- Penta invested in so many things to provide us with better service. We own the 19th floor. We do not rent it but we own it.

- If you are to join another MLM company, always check the background of the owner.

- Verification of loadwallet replenishments in different banks need arrangements with bank's software and hardware. Penta talked to different bank's presidents and things like that CANNOT BE outsourced.

- The maintenance policy HAS NO MECHANICS YET. It is STILL JUST AN IDEA by the company for again, company SUSTAINABILITY. Every legal MLM company has that. The reason why it has no mechanics yet because they don't even have the PRODUCTS YET for the maintenance. They are still choosing products for this. They want it to be VARIOUS para marami tayong pagpilian. Maintenance will be PER ACCOUNT but nothing to worry for those who have multiple accounts because the maintenance is NOT A PER MONTH basis, only if YOU NEED TO maintain that certain account. Penta has not released the mechanics yet because they are STILL thinking what are the products that are CONSUMABLE and AFFORDABLE for everybody. So things you hear from other people, do not believe it. Please wait for VMobile's memo regarding this. They promised they will give the announcement ahead of time of the implementation of the policy.

- Accounts of the top earners who transferred to another company are already suspended. They said that the earnings that they will get from their suspended accounts will go back to the bonus pool. =)

- The top earners said that one of the reasons why they left is that their request of fixed 400 TSB was not granted despite of continuous negotiations with Penta. Penta said that it cannot be granted because they think of the people and the company. Hindi pwedeng ang TSB that day ay 460 pero 400 lang ibibigay kasi sabi ni Penta pera natin un at dapat ibigay. Hindi din pwede na pag ang TSB that day ay 250 ay aabonohan ng Penta para gawing 400 dahil hindi healthy sa company. Penta just wanted to have be fair to everyone, both the members and the company.

- BOMs in main office will still be normal as it was before BUT the leadership trainings (course 1, 2, 3 trainings) will be postponed for the month of October. In November 2012, there will be NEW style of scheduling of BOMs and trainings.

- Others say that VM300 and VM500 has no use now since Smart released a new promo which gives unlitext to all networks for just 250 pesos. Penta already knew the concern before we do and addressed it to Smart. Nasagasaan nga tayo. BUT the promo will ONLY be until Nov. 15. Then it was also mentioned that there will be new features for the VM300 and VM500 that made us so excited about it though we are NOT ALLOWED to give the info yet, surprise! :)

- We will also come up with our own Loadxtreme App eventually which is directly endorsed by the company.

- IBCs who are trying to persuade people to join other MLM company, who are badmouthing VMobile, and anything that is unethical, feel free to report WITH evidence as VMobile management doesn't want to punish someone according to rumor. Everything has to undergo due process.

- We suggested that the IBC directory in loadxtreme.ph be updated to avoid confusion and we saw that the big boss already told the CS to update it.

- The reason why the IBCs are not yet approved is because they are "cleansing" the old IBCs. They want to make sure that the new policy for IBCs will make the IBCs professional and ethical. If they are through with "cleansing" the old IBCs, then they will have a surprise for the existing IBCs. =)

- There will be new MyTurf activation which is Globe Tattoo that will have a QP of 60 days. Please wait for further announcement.

- Loading is far better than before but the reason why the notifications are delayed is that because of the telcos themselves not with VMobile. NTC just conducted an assessment to different telcos in the country and in that assessment, there are 8 categories. ONLY Sun Cellular passed the assessment.

- VMobile keeps on breaking its sales record every month so there is NO WAY that VMobile will SINK. =)
